DescriptionOval shape, raised on four lion's mask feet that are part of an openwork apron with a head of Ceres on each side. The everted sides of the basket pierced and engraved with foliate scrolls. The center flat-chased and with a coat of arms and motto flanked by supporters and surmounted by an earl's coronet. Swing handle rises from putto herms. Engraved under the base with two early 20th-century crests.

Struck under bases with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letter for 1739-40) and with maker's mark of Paul de Lamerie.
InscriptionsThe arms in the center are those of Coote impaling those of Newport, as borne by Algernon Coote, 6th Earl of Mountrath (1689-1744). The later crests are those of Heywood and Lonsdale.
