DescriptionFrame for bottles, stands on three bun feet. Bottle holders flanked by two octagonal stopper holders. Central stem with double-ring handle. Fitted with three octagonal silver casters with pierced covers. The larger caster engraved with a circular coat of arms.
Marks Struck on top of frame and under bases of casters with hallmarks (lion's head erased, Britannia, date letter for 1718-19) and with maker's mark of Charles Adam (Grimwade no. 25); flange of larger caster, bottle covers and handle with lion's head erased and maker's mark, smaller caster covers and with maker's mark struck twice.
InscriptionsEngraved arms of Bathurst quartering Horden, probably as borne by Edward Bathurst (1680-1772) of Wilmington, and subsequently Finchcocks, Kent.
