DescriptionCircular base raised on four scroll feet with applied palmettes and ending in stylized shells.Two hinged double-scroll handles. The domed cover has a detachable handle. Rim of the cover and side of the tureen are engraved with the royal arms enclosed by the Order of the Garter.
Marks
Struck under base and on interior of cover with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letter for 1739-40) and with maker's mark of Henry Hebert (Grimwade no. 1000).
InscriptionsThe royal arms are those borne by George II.
