Description(Groningen: P. Noordhoff, 1930) Quarto; [3 ff.] 115 pp. [2 ff.]; original publisher's printed beige cloth, woodcut affixed on upper cover (gray cardboard box).
Folktales collected by Mrs. E. J. Huizinga Onnekes, the second volume of a series, Groninger Volksvertellingen, printed in an edition of 600 copies (only the first 50 numbered). The MFA also owns the first volume (1988.451). The initials and occasional other vignettes are printed in two colors (black and either red, green, or ochre). The printer was H. N. Werkman, later to become famous for his Resistance publications during the Second World War and the German occupation of the Netherlands. The MFA has one of his own books from 1942 (1985.133).
