Description(Paris: G. L. M., 1938) Octavo; 6 ff. plus 7 plates; original publisher's printed wrappers, [original?] half black cloth portfolio, gray paper boards (gray manila folder, tan cloth spine).
Portfolio with two poems and 7 prints. This is copy 133 [135?] from an edition of 150, plus several copies for collaborators. The second poem, "Fall of a City" by Stephen Spender, is not mentioned on the title page, but was used in a related 1939 portfolio, Fraternité (MFA copy: 1999.694.1-10). It is possible that it isn't integral to this publication; occasionally copies are found with an English translation of Eluard's poem, not present here. The letterpress was printed by G. L. M. (Guy Louis Mano); the plates were printed at Atelier 17 (Hayter's workshop).
