DescriptionBoth the signature and seal are unclear and could be interpreted as either "Kiyonobu" or "Kiyomasu." It is possible that the print was originally designed by Kiyonobu for a performance of 1715 and re-issued for a reprise performance of 1718, with the signature and seal altered to look like those of Kiyomasu because Kiyonobu had recently died.
