DescriptionMedal - shield-shaped from Louisiana Purchase Exposition" - below this plate are two dolphins - all this is included within a circle in the center of the medal - in the three corners of the medal , outside of the circle, are the initials "U.S.", "N.J.", and a fleur-de-lis, each encircled by a wreath - there are stars between the wreaths, all around the edge of the medal. Side 2: same initials, tec., within the wreaths, same stars around the edge - in circle: a tall figure of a woman in Greek costume covering with a drape, he small figure of a partially-clothed girlwith braids - rising sun with rays appears in the lower right of the circle- around the scene is written: "Universal Exposition -Saint Louis - United States of America - MCMIV" -at bottom of sun is name: "AA.Weinman-Fect." perhaps presented to Grueby for the outstanding contrbution he had made to the field of ceramics.
