DescriptionHead of a giant with pointed animal's ears and a mustache. The muscular face is contorted by exertion. The eyes were originally inlaid in another material. Dark gray marble.
ProvenanceAccording to a letter from Brian Aitken, he was told by Jean-Luc Chalmin that the piece came from Silahtaraga and had been in the Khoury collection in Beirut since about 1920; by 1996: with Acanthus Gallery, 22 East 80th Street, New York, NY 10021; gift to MFA of Brian T.
