This toy provided playful noises, and the smooth, mother-of-pearl served as a calming teether for a wealthy family's child.

DescriptionWith mother of pearl teether. Hexagonal silver stem, slight molding at ends, broad knop on which 3 bells hang from rings, 3 scroll brackets for bells on stem below. mark PS on mouthpiece, ring below, slightly shaped whistle hole; engraved IH (James Hutton) below.
