DescriptionLimestone relief of the Middle Kingdom. It belongs to a set of which 3 other blocks are in the Cairo Museum. The provenience may be Kom el Hisn in the Delta, as suggested by the text, or Farag in Middle Egypt, as suggested by the Cairo register. The relief is the left side of the lintel of which the right side is Cairo. Temp. Reg. 1.6.24.11.
Sihathor is shown seated on the left of the block, facing right and holding a staff and folded hankerchief. Three long and three short columns of hieroglyphic text give his name and titles.

ProvenanceBy 1972, with Jean-Louis Domercq, Paris (three blocks from the same tomb were acquired by the Cairo Museum in 1924); purchased by the MFA from Jean-Louis Domercq January 12, 1972.
