DescriptionChinese for export. Barrel form ale or cider jug with double twisted handle, gilt starred blue rim; cover with orange dragon finial covers lip. Decorated with seated figure of Toby Philpot reciting the first stanza of the poem inspired by Sterne's Tristram Shandy: "Dear Tom, this brown jug which now foams with mild ale out of..." On the other side, a pedestal tale with tablecloth, plates with food and knife, cup and two-tined fork.
