DescriptionThe 11th month was the beginning of the theater season. The large folded paper lying across the inkstone on the writing desk reads "New Guide to Actors (Shin yakusha zuke): Ichikawa Danzô" (presumably referring to Danzô IV, who used the name from 1773 to 1808. On the miniature standing screen on the desk are the numbers of the short months: 1, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12.
