DescriptionPlaque: A male figure and a female figure (Bahram Gur and his lady Azadeh) on camelback; male figure holds bow and female figure holds lyre. Three gazelles fleeing before, one with foot pinned to ear by arrow. Stucco. Badly damaged, portions missing. Backed with plaster.
Provenance1936, excavated at Rayy (Chal Turkhan, in present-day Iran), by the University Museum-M.F.A. Persian Expedition; 1939, assigned to the MFA as part of the division of excavated objects. (Accession Date: January 12, 1939)
