First edition, published in Paris (Geneva imprint false). Contains an engraved title after Eisen, author portrait after Danloux, plate after Moreau, vignette and tailpiece after Eisen, all engraved by Gaucher; another vignette engraved by Elluin after Marillier.
ProvenanceAcquired in 1906 by William A. Sargent, Boston (1858-1936), by whom bequeathed to MFA, November 17, 1937.
