ProvenanceFormerly in the collection of the Kii branch of the Tokugawa family, acquired by Ernest F. Fenollosa during his residence in Japan from 1878-1886. In 1886, the Fenollosa Collection was purchased by Charles Goddard Weld and bequeathed to the Museum upon his death in 1911.
