DescriptionCircular medal of Napoléon Bonaparte (1769-1821), first consul of France, commemorating the Venus de'Medici and struck for Napoléon's visit to the Musée Napoléon (16 August 1803).

Obverse: Profile bust of Napoléon looking to proper left; inscribed under bust "JEUFFROY FECT/180[3 or 5]/DENON DIRE.C.D. MUSEE.C.D.ARTS".

Reverse: Venus de Milo at center; inscribed at edge "AUX ARTS LA VICTOIRE" and below "L'AN IV DU CONSULAT DE BONAPARTE".
