DescriptionCircular medal of Napoléon Bonaparte (1769-1821), general in charge of France, commemorating the battle at the Pyramids.

Obverse: Profile bust of Napoléon looking to proper left; inscribed at edge "BONAPARTE GENERAL EN CHEF" and under bust "A.BOVY".

Reverse: Napoléon on horseback before his troops with the pyramids of Cairo in background; inscribed above "SOLDATS! DU HAUT DE CES PYRAMIDES/40 SIECLES NOUS CONTEMPLENT", at proper right "A.BOVY", and in exergue "NAPOLEON EN EGYPTE./25 JUILLET 1798".
