DescriptionCircular medal of Victoria (1819-1901), queen of Great Britain, commemorating her Diamond Jubilee, or her 60th anniversary (1897).
Obverse: Bust of Victoria looking to proper right, wearing veil and a crown; inscribed at edge "VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX" and on bust "J.E.B.".
Reverse: At center, frontal Queen seated on a throne, wearing a crown and holding an orb in her left hand and a sword in her right with three women standing at proper right and two women standing at proper left; Mercury reclining infront offering a plate to Queen and a winged Cupid seated at proper left; two putti support a wreath and each hold an inscribed tablet above; inscribed above "IN.COMMEMORATION" and in exergue on five shields "ASIA", "AMERICA", "EUROPE", "AUSTRAL/ASIA", and "AFRICA".
