DescriptionThe straw snake held by the boy servant is a souvenir of the Fuji Festival celebrating the annual opening of Mount Fuji to pilgrims on the first day of the sixth month. Residents of Edo visited artificial hills representing Fuji in locations such as Asakusa or Komagome.
