The actor Nakamura Nakazô I used the name Nakayama Kojûrô VI from 1785.11 to 1786.11; during this time, the name Nakamura Nakazô was used by his adopted son Nakamura Mansaku. At the performance illustrated in this print, the two actors returned to their previous names. In the following month Nakazô moved to Osaka and did not return to Edo until 1788.
