Like the cherry blossoms in spring, the maple leaves of autumn were celebrated with picnics under the trees. At the far left, two picnickers sit on a mat to enjoy a box lunch. Tea is available at stalls set up in the park surrounding the temple Kaian-ji, famous for its maple leaves and its view of the harbor. Adults point out the view to each other or enjoy a quiet smoke, while children scramble up the hill under the watchful eyes of their mother.
