Obverse: Semi-nude man holding a torch in his left hand sits on a winged victory figure who holds a wreath above buildings and with a palm branch at proper right; inscribed at edge "EXPOSITION·UNIVERSELLE·INTERNATIONALE·", proper left "JC·CHAPLAIN 1900", and on rectangular plate "K.TOMITA".
Reverse: Bust of a woman (probably personification of Liberty) looking to proper left, wearing a close fitting cap and with an oak tree to proper right with one branch extending as if crowning woman and view of Paris in distance; inscribed at edge "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE".
