DescriptionCircular medal of Napoléon (1769-1821), emperor of France, commemorating his entry into Moscow. From the "Histoire métallique de Napoléon le Grand prepare par la class d’histoire et de literature ancienne de l’Institut Impérial".
Obverse: Profile bust of Napoléon looking to proper left, wearing laureate wreath; inscribed at edge "NAPOLEON EMP.ET ROI." and on shoulder "ANDRIEU F".
Reverse: Walls of Moscow with tower at center and two minarets behind; inscribed above "ENTRÉE A MOSCOU", at proper right, at proper left, and in exergue "BATAILLE DE FRIEDLAND/XIV JUIN MDCCCVII".
