DescriptionCircular medal of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known as Molière (1622-1673), commemorating the completion of a fountain in his memory by Louis-Tullius-Joachim Visconti (1841-1843). Inscribed on edge "CUIVRE".

Obverse: Profile bust of Molière looking to proper right, wearing a cap; inscribed at edge "MOLIERE 1622-1673." and under bust "CAUNOIS SCULP.".

Reverse: Monument at center with inscription; inscribed at edge "INAUGURÉ EN 1844 SOUSCRIPTON. NATIONLE.", on monument "A/MOLIERE/---/1622/1673", at proper left "CAUNOIS/SCULP.", and at proper right "VISCONTI/ARCH".
