DescriptionCircular medal of Napoléon (1769-1821), emperor of France, commemorating the Peace of Vienna. From the series "Histoire métallique de Napoléon le Grand prepare par la class d’histoire et de literature ancienne de l’Institut Impérial".
Obverse: Profile bust of Napoléon looking to proper left, wearing a laureate wreath; inscribed at edge "NAPOLEON EMP.ET ROI." and under bust "ANDRIEU F".
Reverse: Standing nude male at center holding a downward pointed torch at proper left over a destroyed chariot and branch at proper right over a plinth; inscribed at proper right edge "ANDRIEU F. D.D." and in exergue "PAIX DE VIENNE/MDCCCVII".
