DescriptionTsuji banzuke for the kabuki drama "Tôkaidô iroha nikki" that was staged at the Ichimura Theater (Edo) from the 7th day of the 7th lunar month of Bunkyû 1 (1861). The day's program also included two Jôruri plays: "Yume musubu tsuyu no korobine" and "Sato no niwaka iro no dekiaki". The banzuke was jointly published by Fukuchi Mohei and Yamamoto Jûgorô.

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
