The Buddha Amitabha sits on a lotus holding the vessel of elixir. He is backed by a halo and flowers and trees, suggesting that the setting is Sukhavati, the western paradise. He is surounded by smaller figures of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and devotees. Heavenly figures sit above in the clouds. The image has a painted border of a red and gold cloud pattern.
