DescriptionWoman's surcoat (magua) of dark blue silk gauze trimmed around neck, front and lower edge with black satin edged in ribbon of silk and gold-wrapped thread with floral repeat in light green and light blue silk; sleeve turnbacks of light green plain-weave silk with open work floral and butterfly pattern; back of sleeves have cranes, flowers and butterflies embroidery in polychrome silk; center front opening with black silk knot button and loop closure.
