Inscriptions延暦年中奥州安部高丸王命に叛しかは 田村将軍追討として駿州清見が関まで赴きしが ここに合戦の時清水観音霊験の事あり 又鈴鹿山鬼神退治の時も観音の功力にて婦女とけし田村を導き是を討たしむ その眷属どもに数多矢を放ち給ひ 残らづ悪鬼を亡すなり

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States.
