Description京の祇園祭の行事の一つで、芸妓たちが仮装する練物（ねりもの）を描いたシリーズ。初代市川市紅（いちかわしこう）（のちの五代市川団蔵（いちかわだんぞう））の助八（すけはち）役に扮した花菱屋（はなびしや）くまの。五代市川団蔵が市紅名を使うのは文化12（1815）年春から、団蔵名を使い始めるのは1818年からである。市紅は文化12年4月大坂、中の芝居「振分髪真鳥実記（ふりわけがみまとりじっき）」で百姓助八役を演じ、同年5月4日から京、南側芝居（みなみがわしばい）でも同一狂言の同一役を演じている。 -- 田辺 昌子Ｋ
