左兵衛佐殿 むほんのよしありて 平家の大軍冨士川まで押しよせ来りける所に ある夜冨士沼にあまたなる水鳥の何かは驚き一度にぱっと立ける羽音 雷(いかづち)大風の様に聞へければ 平家の兵(つわもの)ども源氏の大軍向ひ来りと心得 皆々周章(あはて)噪(さわぎ)て尾州河洲俣へと落行けり

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
