夏の部。浅草の辺りを流れる隅田川を別に浅草川ともいった。両国橋上手西岸には幕府米蔵の船入堀(ふないりぼり)が並び、その埠頭(ふとう)にあったのが通称首尾の松で、吉原通いの舟の目標となった。空には星がまたたいている。 -- 藤澤紫K

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
