DescriptionHanshirô played Oshichi in the 3rd month of 1809 (Bunka 6) in Gohiiki Aratama Soga at the Morita Theater, and again in the 7th month of the same year in Tamamatsuri Oshichi no Tsuizen at the Ichimura Theater.
「大当狂言」は文化後期のシリーズ。文化12年頃ヵ(新藤説)。
文化6年3月3日森田座「御贔屓新玉曽我」二番目「其往昔恋江戸染」に取材したものだが、本図の作成期は異なる。文化6年3月の他にも、同年7月市村座「魂祭お七の追善」で<5>岩井半四郎がお七を演じている。
