夏の部。本郷の富士見坂辺りから三崎町、九段方面を望み、神田川と水道橋、遥かに富士山を描く。端午の節句の際、武家が飾る吹流しや鍾馗の絵幟、町家が飾る鯉幟がたなびく。ここでも、手前に対象物を大きく配して遠景を望む手法を用いている。 -- 藤澤紫K

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
