DescriptionFemale head with melon coiffure. Light brown clay, unglazed. Removed from Victory (88.557 group) to which it does not belong, Feb. 17, 1898. [The previous record for this head gave Naukratis as its provenance but that seems impossible since it was said to belong to a group from Nemi.] (A handwritten note on the 88.557* card for the head said that it was from Naukratis and was signed E.R.)
ProvenancePurchased through R. Lanciani, 1888 (as part of a group from Nemi), for $ 493.92 (this figure is the total price of MFA 88.538–88.644 and 89.9–89.31)
