芭蕉翁常に観音経を信じ/ことに此岩間寺の薩たを念じて閑素幽棲の風流を志せしかば/終にその霊験を蒙りて末代に名を天下にかがやかせり/紫式部は此辺の石山寺の観音にこもりて持念し/源氏物語の秀著あり/芭蕉翁は/この山つづき国分山に三年の間住みて/幻住庵の記をかかれ/一夏九旬に法華二十八品を一石に一字づつ書んと思いて/里の童たちに小石を拾はせ/携へ来るものには/その賃にとて菓子なぞを与へけるゆへ/童たちは翁を慕ひあつまりて/既にその功達し/其記文のおくによむ/「先たのむ椎の木もあり夏木立」ばせを
