DescriptionCircular medal of Edward Vernon, admiral of the British fleet. Coin turn and beaded on both faces.
Obverse: Admiral Vernon stands at center, turned to proper right, holding a sword in right hand and with a canon at feet, ship at proper left, and a building at proper right; inscribed above in band "ED:VERNON ESQ:VICE ADMIRAL OF THE BLUE" and at proper right "HAVANAI".
Reverse: Multiple ships at harbor; inscribed above in band "HE·TOOK·PORTO·BELLO·WITH·SIX·SHIPS·ONLY" and in exergue "NOV·22·1739".
