DescriptionCircular medal of the poet Lodovico Carbone of Ferrara. Pierced at top.
Obverse: Profile bust of Lodovico Carbone looking to proper left, crowned with a laureate wreath and wearing robe; inscribed at edge [pierced through "O"] "OR SETTV QVEL CARBONE QVELLA FONTE." and under bust "OPVS SPERANDEI".
Reverse: A frontal siren rises from waves, holding in each hand one of her two fish-tails in which her body ends. There is a rocky foreground with leafless tree to both the proper left and right; inscribed at edge "[pierced and abraided where rose and symbol should be] CHE SPANDI DI PARLAR SI LARGO FIVME" and above siren "·MVSIS GRATIISQVE VOLENTIBVS·".
