DescriptionDull red jacket and waistcoat, blue cap, yellow-brown knee-breeches; holds a yellow pole. The free handling and the direct use of color are those of Hunt's middle period. The boy, whom he found at Hastings about 1831 and brought to London, is apparently the model used by Hunt in many other pictures.
