Number 39 from an edition of 300 copies. The Contemporary Print Group issued at least two portfolios of six prints each: American Scene No. 1 and No. 2. This set, No. 1, consists of the following lithographs:
Biddle, "Tom Mooney"
Burck, "The Lord Provides"
Dehn, "Easter Parade" (Lumsdaine and O'Sullivan 270)
Grosz, "The Hero"
Marsh, "Union Square" (Sasowsky 27)
Orozco, "Negroes" (Marrozzini 19, Hopkins 23)
Most authorities date the portfolio 1934; the prints are datable from 1933 to 1934. All were printed by Miller. The text within the portfolio contains a brief introduction by Suzanne La Follette.
