Decorative strapwork cartouche designs. This album contains five engravings by Cornelis Bos: Allegory (Schéle 70) and four from a set of five cartouches with German proverbs (S. 197, 199-201) and 33 engravings by Vriedeman de Vries: 17 (of 20) strapwork cartouches with grotesques (Hollstein 101-03, 106-07, 109-20; 16 strapwork cartouches with interlaced band pattern (Holl. 121-36). The Vredeman de Vries prints were published by Hieronymus Cock.
