DescriptionThough probably drawn in 1804 while Philipp Anrdé was still in charge of the Polyautography project, this stone was not published until 1807 when Volweiller had taken control.
ProvenanceHeinrich Vetter, Munich; transferred in 1949 by Vetter (as gift or by exchange) to the Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich; deaccessioned in 1961 (probably by exchange) to R. Arnim Winkler , Berlin (1904-1989) (not in Lugt); K. T. Winkler (sold London, Bonham's, 6 May 1998, lot 9 (£1100 to Laube).
