DescriptionDisk-shaped ornament from a chariot horse's harness, a companion to 1980.276. In the central boss, the storm god Teisheba carrying a bow, emerging from a winged ring and standing on a bull. First and third concentric registers decorated with rows of fantastic winged animals: sphinxes, bulls, goats, griffons, dragons.

NOTE: MFA accession nos. 1980.276 and 1980.277, and 1981.25 were said to have been found together in the Lake Van region of eastern Anatolia (tomb of Ishpuini?).
