DescriptionThis amulet of bright blue, highly glazed faience represents the solar god Re-Horakhty as a falcon with the sun's disk above his head. Because Re-Horakhty was associated with the rising sun, amulets of him were believed to assist the wearer with rebirth each day in the afterlife. There is a ring on the back of the head for stringing.
