Illustrations of land birds; vignettes of landscapes and genre subjects. First edition, comprising the illustrations to Bewick's Land Birds, first published in 1797 (MFA copies: BR1331.1 and 37.1960a) with letterpress title page, editor's statement, and running title and captions to the bird illustrations, otherwise without text. All the leaves are printed on the recto only. See Roscoe, pp. 59-64 for discussion of this edition, printed in 500 copies, but apparently not a commercial success.
