Illustrations to La Fontaine's fables.

First edition, illustrated with 64 lithographs by Carle Vernet, 19 by his son Horace, and 34 by his son-in-law Hippolyte Lecomte (5 more are unsigned). They carry dates from 1818 to 1820. The plates were printed by Engelmann, who also was the publisher; the unpaginated letterpress text was printed by Fain.
