Illustrations: medallion portraits of Vogtherr father and son on title; Vogtherr coat of arms (fol. A2v); various headdresses, positions of hands and feet, helmets, suits of armor, weapons, cartouches, column capitals, ornamental columns.

ProvenanceProbably Wolff, Graf von Blome, of Schloss Salzau, Holstein (b. 1728 - d. 1784) [see note 1]. 1926, sold by Emil Hirsch (b. 1866 - d. 1954), (dealer), Germany, to Philip Hofer (b. 1898 - d. 1984), Cambridge, MA, for RM 800; 1941, sold by Hofer to the MFA for $300 [see note 2]. (Accession Date: February 13, 1941)
NOTE 1: The book bears the bookplate of the Bibliotheca Blomiana, which was largely, but not entirely assembled by Wolff, Graf von Blome.
NOTE 2: The MFA's accession ledgers are ambiguous about whether the Museum purchased the book directly from Hofer or from the Harvard College Library, with Hofer as agent. The relationship between Hofer and the Library was complicated at the time, but the volume bears no marks from the Harvard College Library, suggesting that the book was Hofer's personal copy.
