Description(Wittenberg: Johann Krafft, 1558) Quarto; 48 leaves; eighteenth-century vellum boards.

Illustrations: the Decalogue, articles of Faith, Paternoster, Virtues and Vices, and scenes from the Passion. The woodcut of Joseph and Potiphar's Wife (X, fol. A8r) is initialled and dated in the block "D.B. 1557"; the woodcutter has also initialled it "I.L.CT" with a cutter's knife. The latter has been attributed to Jacab Lucius the Elder (about 1530-1597; Hollstein, German, XXIII, pp. 17-39, but these illustrations are not cited. Further, there are other series in the book, especially the Passion, which are derivative of Dürer and other artists.
