Catalogue Raisonné Bonacini 1039-41; Berlin 5089-91; Becker 44
Description(Paris: the author, about 1600) Quarto; 104 leaves; gilt-stamped red morocco binding dated 1869 (Chambolle-Duru).

Illustrated examples of French, "Italian," and Greek writing. First edition of three titles seemingly published simultaneously by Le Gangneur and usually found bound together. In order, they treat French, Italian, and Greek writing. The imprint is dated about 1600 because the printed "Extraict des registres de Parlement" (fol. D2) is dated in that year. The title engravings are dated 1599. The author portrait is engraved by de Leu after Dumonstier; the writing samples and titles are engraved by Frisius.

The MFA owns a calligraphic manuscript by Le Gangneur (accession number: 25.700).
