DescriptionPainting in hanging scroll (thangka) format, with streamers, veil and decorative stitched borders.

The Buddha Amitayus sits cross-legged on a lotus seat. He is red in color, his hands in dhyana mudra holding a vase filled with amrita with a red lotus on top. He wears Bodhisattva ornaments and is surrounded by radiating golden rays and a foliate aureole of gold and green gemstones. This is surrounded by lotus flowers and foliage. Above are pastel clouds, sun and moon. Below are hills, tiny deer, and a lotus supporting offerings. The inner brocades differ from those used on other paintings in this set.
